How does Hypnotherapy work?

Presenting symptoms may have developed from layers of underlying causes.  Through deep relaxation we can access these subconscious memories efficiently and effectively.  Here we can thoroughly process the cause and then fully release the symptoms by allowing your conscious mind to better integrate and reframe them so they no longer have the same power over you.  Old patterns and emotional imprints can be released and rewritten in a safe, calm environment. The result? A calmer mind, lighter emotions, and a renewed sense of confidence to move forward in life.

What does Hypnotherapy feel like?

Hypnosis feels like a comfortable daydream. You’re deeply relaxed, but fully aware, and always in control. The therapy is the guided conversation we have as you open up and begin to process what was held in your subconscious. By bringing it to your conscious in the safe, calm, present moment, you are able to rewrite how the memory is felt and gain control over it so it no longer has a hold over you.

What can I expect from a session?

Each weekly session is an hour long. We will start with seeing how you have been over the past week, you will be asked to keep a record of certain things which we will review. We go at a pace that suits you, always prioritizing your needs week by week. As your subconscious begins to release old patterns and beliefs, we may explore these shifts through simple, conscious conversation to ensure a smooth, ongoing transition, or take you into hypnosis to do some more detective work.

How many sessions will I need?

Typically there will be about 8-12 sessions.  While we generally follow a course, sessions are not limited.  We go at a pace that suits you.  You may find it easy to open up, you may find you need more time.  Your emotional wellbeing is always my priority and we’ll work together until you feel truly free and empowered.

How much does a session cost?

While I generally follow a course, this is a collaborative process and so for effective change, we go at a speed that suits you. Some will require more sessions than others. Each session is £50. This is kept deliberately reasonable as I believe healing should be accessible for everyone.

What do you specifically help with?

I choose not to create a list of struggles as the type of holistic hypnotherapy I use isn’t restricted in this way.  It works by getting to the root cause of what your struggle is so that we can process and eliminate it with a calm intelligence built in the safe space.  This can be anything from smoking to childhood trauma and everything in between. The struggle was programmed in the moment, most likely with some sort of pressure.  We revisit it with calm logic and re-write it so it is no longer holding you back.

How will I feel after Hypnosis?

Many people find it surprisingly calming and enjoyable, and would rather stay a little longer.  Depending on what came up in the session, you may well feel tired and emotionally exhausted which will present itself over the following week.  As we work through the weeks, you will feel up and down; this is completely normal as ‘things’ bubble up.  Wounds will heal and have much less hold over you and you will find that this positivity will ripple out into other areas of your life you may not have expected.
